01

Inspect before a storm is named

Look for dead or broken limbs, unstable small trees, blocked drains, loose pots and materials that could become airborne.

02

Do not top trees

Topping creates large wounds and weak regrowth. Structural tree concerns should be evaluated using proper pruning practices and qualified help.

03

Protect drainage paths

Remove debris from known flow paths and inlets. Do not redirect runoff toward buildings or neighboring properties.

04

Document the system

Photograph controller settings, valve locations, backflow components and visible heads before a storm so damage is easier to identify afterward.

05

Plan re-entry and cleanup

Define who checks the property, what constitutes emergency work and how extra cleanup is authorized when owners or managers are away.
